Issue 9 of iGaming AFRIKA Magazine is Out Now!

The wait is over! Issue 9 of iGaming AFRIKA Magazine is officially out, and this edition brings together some of the conversations we’ve been having across the African iGaming space; from technology and market expansion to payments, regulation, leadership and understanding the players behind the numbers.
We open this issue with our cover story, Hamed Rahimi, CEO of Betora Global. With 17 years of experience across social gaming, crypto, and technology, Hamed shares his thoughts on localisation, entering new markets, operator control, and what it takes to build technology that works for different markets and businesses.
From there, we sit down with some of the people helping shape the industry. Rasmus Sojmark CEO and Founder of SBC & Sports Global Group, talks about SBC’s growing engagement with Africa and its place in the global gaming conversation, while Najib Choujaa Head of Growth for Africa and the Middle East at Kadam, looks at why the industry needs to think beyond player acquisition and pay more attention to the audiences brands already have.
We also hear from Loyce Oluoch, Country Director at Choplife Gaming, on leadership and governance, Dianah Wathanji, Head of Sales at iGaming AFRIKA Summit, on the growth of the iGaming AFRIKA Summit and what lies ahead for 2027, and Adenike Oyebamiji, Legal Compliance Manager for West Africa at Velex Advisory, on the unique perspective that comes from having worked both within regulation and alongside the businesses navigating it.

And because payments remain such an important part of the African iGaming story, Abigail Munene, the VP of marketing at Kotani Pay, takes us through the realities of cross-border payments, fragmented systems, stablecoins, and what the future of transactions could look like across the continent.
This edition also features thought provoking pieces from David Ukairo, Regional Sales Manager (Africa & Emerging Markets) at PieGaming, who looks at why Africa cannot be approached as one market and Hydah Okinda, Account Manager – Africa, at Endorphina who explores the other side of that conversation; why there is no single “African player” and why understanding each market individually matters.
Rounding off the issue are three internal editorial pieces from the iGaming AFRIKA team.
Anne Jelagat, Editorial Designer at iGaming AFRIKA, explores what it really takes to enter Africa’s iGaming market, focusing on regulation, payments, localisation and understanding individual markets. Mary Wanja, Content Director at iGaming AFRIKA, challenges the assumption that being African automatically means understanding every African market in “Close Is Not the Same as Familiar,” highlighting the continent’s different regulatory and commercial realities. Jeremiah Maangi, CEO at iGaming AFRIKA, examines regulation, taxation and the growth of unregulated betting.
This issue is ultimately about understanding the iGaming industry;the people, decisions, challenges and ideas shaping where African iGaming goes next.
