Rwanda Launches InteGo!, Its National Lottery
On 27 October 2026, Rwanda officially launched InteGo!, a state-owned national lottery, during an inauguration ceremony at the Mövenpick Hotel Kigali. The lottery is operated by Moja Rwanda Ltd and regulated by the National Lottery and Gambling Commission under the Rwanda Development Board.
The launch brought together leaders from the Rwanda Development Board (RDB), the National Lottery and Gambling Commission (NLGC), government institutions, and partner organisations across the financial, telecommunications, technology, and mobility sectors.
Named after the Kinyarwanda word intego, meaning “a goal,” the initiative operates under the core message “Every Play Makes a Difference.”
InteGo! is projected to generate approximately USD 37.6 million (RWF 55 billion) in government revenue, with all net proceeds directed toward public-benefit initiatives in three priority areas: sports, health, and culture. Funding will support sports talent development, grassroots programmes and infrastructure, community health programmes and public wellbeing services, and cultural preservation and community development projects.
Serge Nyombayire, Head of Gambling Licensing and Regulations at the NLGC, said: “The launch of InteGo! represents an important milestone in the development of a modern, well-regulated national lottery. Beyond offering a new form of entertainment, the initiative will generate resources to support investments in sports, health and culture, contributing to talent development, community wellbeing and broader national development priorities.
Through the National Lottery and Gambling Commission under RDB, we will continue to uphold the highest standards of regulatory oversight, transparency and accountability, ensuring that responsible gambling and public welfare remain at the heart of the lottery’s operations.”

The lottery’s operations distinguish regulatory oversight from technical delivery. The NLGC, operating under the RDB, oversees compliance, audits the management of proceeds, safeguards operational integrity, and enforces player-protection policies. Moja Rwanda Ltd, a subsidiary of Moja Group Inc. selected through a competitive bidding process, is the exclusive technical operator, responsible for the system’s architecture, digital security, and service delivery.
Built as a fully digital national lottery, InteGo! offers transparent transactions and nationwide access through USSD (*759#), mobile money, its official website (www.intego.rw), and its mobile app. Authorised agents are also available to assist customers in person, although ticket purchases and payouts are processed digitally.
Tickets start at RWF 100, and the initial games are Lotto 5/90 and Fata 12. From 28 October 2026, Lotto 5/90 draws will be broadcast daily on Rwanda Broadcasting Agency (RBA) television at 7:40 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays, and at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesdays and Fridays.
Under Rwanda’s Gambling Policy, the InteGo! platform includes strict safeguards to promote responsible play. Participation is limited to adults aged 18 and older across digital and agent channels, while features such as mandatory spending limits, cooling-off periods, and voluntary account closures help players manage their activity. Players can also call the free support helpline at 2075 for guidance. Officials emphasise that the lottery is intended for entertainment, not as a source of income, and public engagement teams will launch nationwide educational roadshows in the coming weeks.
Daniel Mihizi, General Manager at Moja Rwanda Ltd, said: “As the technical operator of InteGo!, our priority is to deliver a secure, transparent and reliable national lottery that meets international standards and earns public confidence. We have invested in digital technology and operational systems that ensure accountability, protect players and provide a seamless experience across the country.
Working closely with the NLGC, we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity and responsible gambling, while ensuring that InteGo! delivers on its promise of generating lasting benefits for Rwandan communities.”
