Tiktok is planning to open an office in Kenya in an effort to better coordinate its operations on the continent this is according to the CEO of the worldwide video sharing platform, Shou Zi Chew.
Chew decided to collaborate with Kenya in analyzing and regulating its content amid mounting moral concerns about what is published on the app, according to a report from State House on Thursday, just seconds after President William Ruto held a virtual meeting with Chew.

In a virtual meeting with President Ruto on Thursday morning, Tiktok CEO Shou Zi Chew committed to ensuring that content is moderated to fit community standards. This new development means that inappropriate or offensive content will be expunged from the platform.
During the meeting, Mr Chew also agreed to set up a Kenyan office to co-ordinate its operations in the continent. He pledged to hire more Kenyans to work for the platform.

This is despite calls for the country to ban Tiktok activities in the country.
Bob Ndolo, the CEO of Bridget Connect Consultancy, petitioned Kenya’s National Assembly last week to enact a complete ban on the platform, claiming that the graphic content it displays encourages social vices like sexual violence, hate speech, and vulgarity. Tiktok kenya Office
