The Lagos State Lotteries and Gaming Authority (LSLGA) has identified 59 illegal and unlicensed gaming operators in Nigeria.
The regulations firm is urging the public to avoid engaging with the illegal betting firms. Players are cautioned against fraud, non-payment of winnings, and lack of consumer protection. The Authority reiterates that gaming regulation within Lagos rests with the State, backed by law and Supreme Court judgment, and warns that enforcement actions will be taken against non-compliant operators.
Residents are encouraged to patronise only duly licensed platforms and verify operators via the official LSLGA website. Meanwhile, Lagos State is taking decisive steps to sanitize the gaming industry and protect residents. These 59 operators are conducting gaming activities without the requisite licenses and approvals of the Lagos State Government, rendering their operations illegal within the State.
