Botswana Gambling Authority Partners with Molepolole Book Fest to Promote Responsible Gambling

The Botswana Gambling Authority partnered with the Molepolole International Book Fest for their campaign across Botswana promoting responsible gambling and public awareness efforts.

The regulator issued a statement on Saturday, April 25, and acclaimed the purpose of the collaboration was to promoting education, informed decision-making and community engagement through literature and public discussions. The book festival was under the theme “Growing a World of Voice”, bringing together writers, readers and community stakeholders.

Commenting on the partnership, a representative said, “As the Authority, our commitment goes beyond regulation. We actively support initiatives that promote awareness, responsible decision-making and community wellbeing. We continue to encourage critical thinking and informed choices in all areas of life.”

The partnership forms part of a wider push to engage with community programmes beyond the gaming sector. In recent years, the regulator has increased its focus on responsible gambling campaigns, consumer awareness and stakeholder partnerships.

The Gambling Authority (GA) is the official regulatory body established by the Government of Botswana to oversee and control the gaming and gambling industry. The board has the following core responsibilities; Licensing, Regulation, responsible gambling and public support. It operates under the Gambling Act of 2012.

Molepolole Book Fest

The inaugural Molepolole International Book Fest 2026 took place on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at The Village Gate Mall in Molepolole, Botswana. The event gathered over 80 writers, poets, and artists to promote storytelling, featuring keynote addresses. The event marked the first collaboration with The gambling Authority of Botswana to sensitize the masses on gambling safety.
