Gambling Authority of Botswana Joins HATAB Conference to Strengthen Tourism Sector

The Gambling Authority of Botswana recently participated in the Hospitality and Tourism Association of Botswana (HATAB) Annual National Conference in Maun, marking a strategic shift toward integration within the broader hospitality sector.
The event was attended by the Authority’s CEO, Mr. Moruntshi Kemorwale, and the Minister of Environment and Tourism, Hon. Wynter Boipuso Mmolotsi, and it was at this conference that the collaborative approach to this relationship was established. During the event, Mr. Moruntshi emphasized the “intrinsic link” between the gambling and hospitality sectors.
He highlighted how local casinos are often seamlessly integrated into major hotel developments, enabling the Authority to play a crucial role in strengthening the tourism value chain. This integration ensures that gaming remains a value-added service for both local and international visitors.
