NLGRB Confiscates 36 Illegal Gaming Machines in Buikwe District
The National Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board (NLGRB) has intensified its efforts to sanitize the gaming industry through its latest enforcement initiative, Operation Mashine Haramu.
In a recent targeted operation, enforcement teams successfully confiscated 36 illegal gaming machines across several key locations in the Buikwe district, including Katosi, Wantoni, and the Kasenyi landing site.
The primary objective of these seizures is to protect the public from the inherent risks of unregulated gambling. The NLGRB warns that these unlicensed machines offer no protection to players, as they operate entirely outside the legal framework.
Beyond the physical removal of the machines, the enforcement update serves as a critical reminder for the public to “know who you’re playing with”. The board emphasizes the importance of staying alert and informed to avoid falling victim to illegal operators.
