SunBet Cares Launches Bursary Programme at North-West University
The SunBet Cares Bursary Programme was launched, providing financial aid to 34 students at North-West University (NWU), Potchefstroom Campus. This landmark initiative represents a profound commitment to education, opportunity, and community development within the North West Province.
Through a collaborative effort between SunBet Cares, the educational services provider Fundi, and the Department of Education, 34 NWU students have received critical financial support. This bursary programme is designed to be comprehensive, ensuring that recipients can focus entirely on their academic journeys without financial stress.
The bursary packages cover full tuition fees to secure academic access, accommodation costs to provide a stable living environment, study materials to equip students with necessary learning resources, and living expenses to assist with their daily needs.
The North West Gambling Board (NWGB), as the province’s gambling industry regulator, was proud to be part of the launch. The NWGB emphasizes that, alongside its regulatory duties of maintaining a safe, fair, and responsible gambling environment, it highly values licensed operators who actively and constructively engage in their local communities.
