NWGB Host Awareness Campaign in Khunwana Village
The North West Gambling Board (NWGB), in collaboration with the Liquor Regulators and the Consumer Affairs Unit, conducted an educational awareness campaign in Khunwana Village, situated within the Tswaing Local Municipality.
The initiative took place as part of the broader Thuntsa Lerole build-up campaigns, bringing vital consumer protection and community education directly to local residents.
During the outreach, NWGB officials engaged with community members to emphasize the importance of exercising caution and gambling responsibly at all times. Residents were offered practical guidance to ensure gambling remains controlled.

They were advised to gamble within their financial limits, never risking money they cannot afford to lose. Community members were encouraged to establish clear personal boundaries before playing and to avoid chasing losses, as officials cautioned against trying to recover lost money by continuing to gamble.
In addition to promoting responsible personal habits, the campaign raised awareness about the dangers of illegal gambling. Officials urged the public to avoid unlicensed gambling sites, warning that these entities operate outside the law and offer no legal protection to players.
The NWGB urged members of the public to assist in combating illegal gambling by reporting any suspected unlawful operations.
