The Cape Verde Red Cross to Digitalize Its Social Games

Arlindo de Carvalho, the president of the Cape Verde Red Cross (CVCV), has stated that the organization wants to digitalize Totoloto and Joker by December. Cape Verde Red Cross Totoloto Joker

Since the initial contracting company failed, there have been a few legal issues that have delayed this automated move over a number of years. Carvalho claims that roughly 90% of the project has already been finished.

The platform, which supports the Internet and new technologies, including banking and financial firms, is currently in the setup phase.

Partnerships with commercial banks, telecommunications providers, and global “Cloud” allocation platforms are necessary for the digitalization process.

All essential equipment has already been ordered, and system testing in Cape Verde is anticipated for October. The final system is scheduled to go live in December 2023.

This procedure will make betting easier on a variety of gadgets, including laptops, tablets, and mobile phones.

The existing Totoloto and Joker game logistics are rather difficult and restrict some islands. But with this update, players will be able to participate at any time, from anywhere in the world.

Since 1977, the CVCV has run the National Lottery; in 1997, it took over control of Totoloto and Joker across the entire country.

It entered into an exclusive concession arrangement with the State of Cape Verde in November 2020 to run social games there for a period of 20 years.

The profits (net results) from these social games are split equally between the State and the concessionaire at 51% and 49%, respectively.

Through weekly awards and the promotion of behaviors that have an impact on society and the economy, these social games have made a substantial contribution to Cape Verde’s development.

For instance, the Red Cross uses funds from these games to fund around 70–80% of its charitable endeavors. Cape Verde Red Cross Totoloto Joker
