betPawa Launches KSh 17.3 Million Sponsorship to Support Kenyan Volleyball with “Locker Room Bonus”
betPawa has officially launched a KSh 17.3 million sponsorship package for the 2026/27 Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) National League.
This partnership is poised to significantly transform the Kenyan volleyball scene. Central to this sponsorship is the Locker Room Bonus, which offers an immediate financial incentive for success on the court. Under this program, every registered player and technical official from a winning team receives KSh 4,000 immediately after each league victory. The bonus applies to 16 beneficiaries per team, including 14 players and two members of the technical bench. Payments are made directly to their mobile money accounts, ensuring they benefit immediately from their positive results.
With 213 matches scheduled throughout the 2026/27 season, this initiative is expected to inject substantial resources into the local volleyball ecosystem. The total investment of KSh 17,358,400 is strategically allocated to support various aspects of the sport. KSh 13.632 million is dedicated specifically to player and technical staff bonuses, while KSh 2.726 million will support the operations of the Kenya Volleyball Federation.
Additionally, KSh 1 million is designated as prize money for the 2025/2026 National League finals, where the Kenya Ports Authority (men) and Kenya Pipeline (women) recently emerged as champions. The initiative will benefit a total of 494 registered players and technical staff across both the men’s and women’s leagues.

A standout feature of the partnership is its unwavering commitment to gender equality. Teams in both the men’s and women’s leagues, currently consisting of 16 men’s teams and 12 women’s teams, will receive identical bonus payments. This ensures that female athletes are rewarded on the same scale as their male counterparts, a move praised for promoting professionalism and fairness in the sport.
Kenyan volleyball has relied heavily on institutional teams sponsored by government agencies, universities, and corporations, often leaving limited room for additional performance-based incentives. KVF President Charles Nyaberi welcomed the betPawa partnership, noting it comes at a crucial time to motivate teams and strengthen national squads like the Malkia Strikers.
By rewarding success on the court, the partnership aims to build a more competitive domestic league, which serves as the primary pipeline for elite talent capable of competing on global and continental stages. As betPawa Country Manager Crispus Mogere stated, this is more than just financial support; it is an investment in the long-term development of Kenyan athletes and coaches.
