Botswana Gambling Authority Welcomes the Appointment of MR. Emolemo Peter Kesitilwe as CEO

The Botswana Gambling Authority has made a significant milestone by appointing Mr. Emolemo Peter Kesitilwe as the Chief Executive Officer. CEO

This appointment, made by the Minister of Trade and Industry, Honourable Mmusi Kgafela, will see Emolemo assume office effective 10 November 2023. Mr. Kesitilwe has been serving in an acting capacity in the same role since August 2022.

Emolemo Kesitilwe is a distinguished professional with an impressive list of qualifications. He is a Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA), a Chartered Management Accountant (ACMA), and a Global Chartered Management Accountant (CGMA). With over 19 years of experience, including over 11 years at the Executive Management level, he is an astute business executive.

Mr. Kesitilwe’s leadership qualities have been proven in both large state-owned entities and private companies in Botswana and the region. His expertise and experience in the gambling industry make him the perfect candidate to lead the Gambling Authority into its next phase of growth, elevation, and development.

In terms of academic achievements, Mr. Kesitilwe holds a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Strategic Business Management from the Manchester Metropolitan University. He also possesses the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) qualification.

His commitment to continuous improvement is evident through his participation in various courses, including Being a Director with the Institute of Directors in Southern Africa (loDSA), Corporate Governance – King IV, and the revised Code of the Report on Governance Principles for South Africa (King III). Throughout his illustrious career, Mr. Kesitilwe has held several key positions. He served as the Chief Financial Officer at the Gambling Authority, Group Chief Financial Officer at Boitekanelo Group, Director Corporate Services at the Local Enterprise Authority (LEA), and Finance Manager and Management Accountant at LEA. Additionally, Mr. Kesitilwe has worked for the Botswana Savings Bank as an Accountant, and he began his career with African Alliance as a Management Accountant.
