2026 SportPesa National Sevens Circuit Set to Begin Following Ruff ‘n’ Tuff 7s Invitational
The 2026 SportPesa National Sevens Circuit is set to officially begin on July 25–26, with the Prinsloo 7s tournament at the Nakuru Athletic Club.
SportPesa has reaffirmed its commitment to Kenyan sports by doubling its sponsorship to KSh 34.14 million for the 2026 season. This marks the fourth consecutive year the firm has served as the circuit’s title sponsor. The tournament will feature sixteen elite Division I teams competing for glory in the opening leg of the six-stop competition, with defending champions Strathmore Leos aiming to secure their third consecutive Prinsloo title.
The 2026 circuit also introduces a significant restructuring of Division II, reducing the field from 20 to 16 teams per leg to accommodate a new women’s tournament in five of the six events. The pool draws for the opening leg have set the stage for intense competition.

In Pool A, Kabras Sugar, seeking their first overall title since 2017, headlines the group alongside Kenya Harlequins, Mwamba RFC, and Embu RFC. Pool B features the defending champions Strathmore Leos facing Daystar Falcons, a rematch of last year’s match, plus MMUST RFC and Kisumu RFC. In Pool C, the overall 2025 champions KCB Rugby lead the group against CUEA Monks, NYS Spades, and Nondescripts. Finally, in Pool D, the host club Nakuru RFC will face regional rivals Menengai Oilers, alongside Impala RFC and the returning KU Blak Blad.
The upcoming national circuit follows the Ruff ‘n’ Tuff 7s Invitational by Nondescripts RFC served as a season curtain-raiser. SportPesa’s investment in both community clubs and the national stage is part of the #SportPesaEffect, a strategy aimed at strengthening Kenyan rugby from the ground up to the international level
