Mastercard and AXIAN Digibank Partner to Boost Africa’s Digital Finance Ecosystem

Mastercard and AXIAN Digibank & Fintech have announced a new partnership aimed at transforming the way Africans access and manage their finances. The collaboration will introduce advanced digital payment solutions in Tanzania, Madagascar, Togo, Comoros, and Senegal, targeting individuals, small businesses, and entrepreneurs who have traditionally been underserved by conventional banking systems.
Through this partnership, AXIAN’s platforms, Mixx and MVola, will integrate with Mastercard’s payment network to provide virtual and physical cards, as well as merchant payment tools. Customers will be able to create cards instantly, load funds, and track transactions in real time, all from their mobile devices. The solutions also enable smoother cross-border payments, helping businesses and individuals participate more effectively in regional trade.
“Across Africa, technology is unlocking new ways to connect people to opportunity. This partnership is a reinforcement of how we are enabling simple and secure ways to make payments and move money. We remain committed to working with innovative players like Axian to drive financial inclusion and accelerate the growth of the continent’s digital economy,” said Mete Guney, Executive Vice President, Market Development, EEMEA, Mastercard.
