GSB Uganda Welcomes The She Cranes Back from the Netball World Cup

The Uganda She Cranes triumphantly returned home to a warm welcome by GSB Uganda after registering an impressive performance at the Netball World Cup in South Africa. Despite failing to reach the top four, the team’s perseverance and talent made a lasting mark on the world scene.

Fans flocked to the airport to greet them upon their return, chanting and dancing in honor of their accomplishments. As the achievements of the Ugandan women’s sports community are honored and celebrated, this homecoming represents a tremendous source of pride for them.

The She Cranes dole out a frigid revenge dish to the hosts, South Africa, who are ranked fifth in the world and at the top of Africa. The accomplished women are now ranked eighth worldwide. the highest placing ever for Uganda.

Netball World Cup 2023 Experience for the She Cranes

The Uganda She Cranes achieved a first by placing fifth at the 2019 Netball World Cup in South Africa, which was a record for them there.

The Uganda She Cranes’ time at the 2023 Netball World Cup in South Africa was uneventful. They put up a valiant fight, defeating some of the best teams in the world, but ultimately failed to achieve their objective of winning the competition.

Uganda She Cranes History

The Uganda She Cranes women’s netball team has been making significant strides in the sport. In the 2019 Netball World Cup, they achieved their best-ever finish by finishing in 7th place. The team has also won multiple regional championships, including the Africa Netball Championship in 2017.

Their success is a result of hard work and dedication, as well as support from the Uganda Netball Federation and the government. The She Cranes have become an inspiration to young girls in Uganda who dream of playing the sport at a high level.
