NLGRB Seizes 169 Illegal Gaming Machines in Uganda’s West Nile Region During Crackdown

The National Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board (NLGRB) has intensified its efforts to clean up the gaming industry through a major enforcement drive called #OperationMashineHaramu.

Working in close coordination with the Uganda Police Force, the board’s enforcement team successfully confiscated 169 illegal gaming machines across the West Nile region.

The operation covered a vast geographical area, targeting both urban centers and smaller trading hubs where unauthorized gaming activities were identified. The enforcement team conducted seizures in several locations, including Arua City, Maracha, Koboko, Odramachako, Alaba, Ombai, Arivu, Olubu, Ochidri, Terego, Madi-Okollo, Bodo, Paidha, Nsombo, Goli, Nebbi, Nyaraburu, Pakwach, Dei, and Panyamur.

The NLGRB has made it clear that this crackdown is an ongoing initiative to ensure that everyone in the industry complies with regulations. This drive is a central part of the board’s mission to uphold legal standards and promote responsible gaming in Uganda, ensuring that all gaming activities are regulated and safe for the public.
