Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board (WCGRB) Announces Responsible Gambling Summit
The Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board (WCGRB) has announced a Responsible Gambling Summit that is scheduled to take place in Cape Town on the 23rd and 24th of November 2023.
The Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board’s statutory mandate is to control and regulate all gambling, racing and activities incidental thereto in the Province and a duty to impose appropriate restrictions and controls to limit the harms and dangers inherent and associated with gambling.
In order to achieve its stated goals, the Board aims to grant licenses for gambling activities, with the aim of safeguarding both society from excessive gambling and players from unfair treatment. The Board will do this through rigorous monitoring and supervision of the industry, ensuring its integrity and fairness.

Considering the aforementioned and with the aim of fulfilling its legislative responsibilities, the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board made the decision to organize a Responsible Gambling Summit from 23 – 24 November 2023.
As stated by the Board, the Summit aims to encourage safer gambling by uniting key players in the industry to facilitate constructive dialogues, research initiatives, and exchange of knowledge with the objective of fostering responsible gambling practices.
