Women Empowerment Initiative at SBC Summit Aims for Inclusion

At the recently held SBC Summit, a significant new initiative was launched to foster the growth and success of women within the gaming industry — the Women Empowerment Initiative (WE). The SBC Summit featured special recognition awards to honor standout female leaders. Two exceptional individuals received accolades for their remarkable contributions in empowering women in the gaming sector.

The prestigious Rising Star in Empowering Women Award was awarded to Maha Otu, MBA, Director of Betwinner affiliates. Her outstanding work in promoting women in leadership roles demonstrates her commitment to fostering a more inclusive environment in the gaming industry. An honorable mention went to Emily Asava, MBA, Regional Sales Manager for Africa at SA Gaming, recognized for her inspirational efforts in empowering women within her organization and beyond.

The Empowering Women in Gaming Award was presented to Kelly Kehn, Co-founder of the All-in Diversity Project. Kelly’s advocacy for diversity and inclusion has made a profound impact on the gaming landscape, promoting equitable opportunities for women. Teresa Caeiro, International Development Manager at bet365, also received an honorable mention for her significant contributions to creating supportive frameworks for women in gaming.

This exciting initiative is supported by a variety of organizations dedicated to enhancing the presence and influence of women in gaming. Key partners include the All-in Diversity Project, Brazil-focused Association of Women in the Gaming Industry (AMIG), LATAM-facing Asociación Femenina de Gaming ASFEG, Global Gaming Women (GGW), SheEOs, Malta-based Women in Gaming network, and Women in Gaming Africa.
