Celebrating 2024’s Top 50 Most Influential Women in Gaming, Africa: Gail Odgers

Gail Odgers is a prominent figure in the marketing landscape of South Africa, currently serving as the Head of Acquisition Marketing for Sportingbet South Africa. Based in the picturesque City of Cape Town, Western Cape, Gail has carved a niche for herself in the competitive iGaming industry.

Gail’s journey in marketing began with an extensive tenure at Soccer Laduma, Africa’s largest football publication, where she spent over a decade. She joined the publication as a print journalist in 2007, quickly rising through the ranks to become Head of Digital Marketing. In this role, she not only oversaw web content development but also spearheaded the publication’s social media strategy.

Prior to her current role at Sportingbet, Gail held various key positions within the marketing domain. She served as Head of Marketing for SportPesa, driving both day-to-day and long-term marketing strategies while representing the brand on a global scale.
