NLA and CLAAG Launch Mandatory Lotto Agent and Writer Registration in Ghana

The National Lottery Authority Ghana (NLA), in collaboration with the Concerned Lotto Agents Association of Ghana (CLAAG), has announced the commencement of a mandatory registration exercise for all agents and writers.

Starting April 1, 2026, all individuals operating under NLA-licensed Private Lotto Operators must register to maintain their legal status. The NLA has simplified the process by offering an online portal. Agents and writers are encouraged to visit www.nlaclaag.com to complete their registration. This digital initiative aims to build a comprehensive database of all operators within Ghana’s private lotto sector.

A critical component of this registration is the issuance of an official sticker. Once the registration process is successfully completed, operators will receive a sticker that must be displayed prominently on their kiosks or containers. This sticker serves as a visible mark of compliance for both players and the NLA’s enforcement officers.

To ensure the success of this directive, a dedicated NLA Compliance Team will be deployed on-site across the country. Their role is to verify registrations and ensure that only authorized personnel are operating in the market.

The NLA has issued a strict warning to all agents and writers that anyone who fails to complete their registration process will be legally prohibited and barred from selling lotto or lottery products anywhere in Ghana. To avoid potential disruptions and ensure compliance, the NLA management urges all stakeholders not to wait until the last minute. By registering early, agents and writers can continue their operations smoothly and contribute to a more transparent and well-regulated lottery industry in the country.
