Ghana Begins Lotto Agent Inspections as NLA Enforces Registration Rules

Ghana’s National Lottery Authority (NLA), in partnership with the Concerned Lotto Agents Association of Ghana (CLAAG), has commenced compliance inspections for lotto agents and writers nationwide as part of efforts to enforce mandatory registration requirements within the country’s lottery sector.

The inspections follow the completion of the registration period for agents operating under Private Lotto Operators licensed by the Authority. In April 2026, the NLA, in collaboration with CLAAG, launched a mandatory registration exercise that required those affected to complete the process and obtain official compliance stickers by 31st May 2026.

Under the NLA’s “No Sticker, No Sales” directive, only agents who have completed the required process and display the approved sticker at their sales points will be permitted to continue operations.

The compliance stickers are intended to help identify authorised lotto sellers. They are also meant to make it easier for regulators and customers to distinguish legitimate operators from unlicensed participants and agents found operating without the required approval may face enforcement action.
