On 25 August 2026, the National Lotteries Commission (NLC) hosted a Women’s Day Commemoration and Celebration.
The event took place at the Birchwood Hotel & OR Tambo Conference Centre in Boksburg.
To commemorate the occasion, the Commission welcomed a number of women-led initiatives from Gauteng, whose participation highlighted the meaningful contributions women are making within their communities. The organisations shared their work and demonstrated how women continue to drive positive change and create lasting impact at the local level.
This year, the commemoration was held under the inspiring theme: “Empowered Women, Empower The Nation”. The gathering served as a moment to reflect on the essential role that women play both within the NLC as an organisation and in wider community development.
The day’s program and proceedings were directed by Ms. Happy Makhumalo Ngidi.
