The National Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board (NLGRB),Uganda, legal department hosted a training workshop on case file management and prosecution readiness.

The training was facilitated by officials from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, Uganda, Makindye Station. The joint training initiative focused on equipping regulatory officers and delegated prosecutors with the specialized legal expertise. These skills are necessary for efficiency when building firm criminal cases. The programme enabled workers to identify and know how to establish clear, structured, and legally compliant internal systems to document violations. Henceforth helping reduce administrative delays and prevents critical operational gaps from derailing legal proceedings.

The workshop also trained legal staff on exact evidentiary thresholds required under the Lotteries and Gaming Act. These will include assets such as confiscated illegal slot machines and tracking financial trails from unlawful activities. They were also reminded of their legal operations and responsibilities.

Speaking at the forum Dr Daisy Nabasitu, Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions at ODPP, noted, “Effective prosecution of gaming and lottery offences depends on credible evidence and proper procedure. Investigations must comply with the Constitution and applicable Laws.“
