Announcing 2024’s Top 50 Most Inluential Women in Gaming, Africa
We are thrilled to announce the release of the inaugural list of the Top 50 Most Influential Women in Gaming, Africa for the year 2024. This recognition, a collaborative initiative between iGaming AFRIKA, Africa’s premier source for casino, sportsbook, and lottery news, and Women in Gaming Africa, a nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering inclusivity and empowerment within the gaming industry, will become a significant annual event each August and November, celebrating the women and men in gaming who are driving impactful change in Africa’s gaming industry.
The recognitions that were made during the month of August being the Women’s Month in South Africa, aim to honor 50 remarkable women who have made significant contributions to the iGaming sector in Africa. It is essential to emphasize that this recognition reflects only a fraction of the many outstanding women in the industry. As an ongoing initiative, we look forward to celebrating and acknowledging even more influential women in the years to come.
The selection process for this year’s list involved a careful evaluation by a diverse panel of nine judges, drawn from various countries and sectors within Africa’s iGaming industry. Their expertise ensured a fair and comprehensive assessment of the nominees, focusing on achievements and their implementation, as well as the positive impact these women have had on the industry.
We recognized the importance of maintaining the anonymity of the judges to preserve the integrity of both this and future nomination and selection processes. By remaining anonymous, the nine judges can safeguard their relationships with all nominees, both those selected for the list and those who were not. Furthermore, this approach ensures that the credibility of the process is not compromised.
In addition to this annual celebration of women, we are excited to announce that starting in November 2024, Women in Gaming, Africa in Partnership with iGaming AFRIKA will also recognize the Top 50 Most Influential Men in Gaming, Africa.
We congratulate all the following women recognized in this inaugural list and look forward to seeing the positive changes that their recognition can inspire across the industry. Remember, this is just the beginning, and many more influential figures will be celebrated in the coming years!
