Celebrating 2024’s Top 50 Most Influential Women in Gaming, Africa: Zeena Rossouw
Zeena Rossouw is a pioneering leader in the gaming industry, currently serving as the Senior Vice President, Africa of BMM Testlabs. Based in Johannesburg, South Africa, Zeena has dedicated her career to advancing regulatory compliance, operations, and sales within the gaming sector. She is also an ambassador for Women in Gaming, advocating for gender equality and empowerment within the industry.
Zeena began her illustrious career over three decades ago in the gaming field, accumulating a wealth of experience across various roles and organizations. Her journey started in 1991 at Wild Coast Sun – Sun International, where she took on the role of Casino Count and Admin Clerk, handling administrative duties and analyzing variances in metered revenue. Demonstrating her capacity for leadership, she quickly advanced to the position of Treasury/Cashier Supervisor, managing a team of approximately 150 staff members and overseeing substantial cash flows.
Following her tenure at Wild Coast Sun, Zeena joined Tsogo Sun, where she played a pivotal role in the launch of several casinos, including Sun Coast Casino and the Ridge Casino. As a Slots Shift Manager, she was responsible for daily operations, customer service, and compliance with gaming regulations. Her expertise in managing gaming floors and implementing procedures solidified her reputation in the gaming community.

In 2009, Zeena transitioned to Aruze Gaming Africa as Compliance Manager, overseeing all regulatory compliance and legal aspects of the South African subsidiary branch for nearly a decade. In this capacity, she managed submissions for gaming products and maintained communication with various regulatory bodies, including the South African Gambling Board. Zeena played a critical role in continuously reviewing and implementing new regulations, participating actively in shaping industry standards through her representation on the South African Gaming Manufacturers Association (SAGMA).
Since March 2018, Zeena has been with BMM Testlabs, where she currently serves as the Vice President of Operations and Sales. As a Women in Gaming ambassador, Zeena is passionate about supporting and mentoring women in the gaming industry, striving to create networks that foster inclusion, empowerment, and professional growth for women. Her advocacy reflects her belief in the importance of diverse representation in leadership roles within the gaming sector.
