BetPawa, a popular gaming company has partnered with the therapy center Baks-Calmare Enclave Foundation to provide counseling and therapy services to address addiction in Ghana.
The Baks Foundation has been operating since 2018, and in 2022 it was formally recognized as a foundation for mental healthcare.
Young people make up the majority of the foundation’s consumers, and it offers them counseling for problem gambling brought on by social and psychological concerns. The charitable organization will get funding from BetPawa for its counseling services.
The collaboration with betPawa to help persons addicted to gambling is a first in the country and places betPawa as a foremost socially responsible organisation.
Aside from the problem gambling counselling services, the support by betPawa to the foundation gives people in Ghana an opportunity to benefit from other psychosocial support services. This is crucial because such services cost a lot of money to access.
While this was going on, in May, the player protection software firms Mindway AI and AnonyMind teamed up to support problem gamblers.
The goal of this collaboration is to identify at-risk gamers and address gambling addiction as part of a new integrated strategy.
AnonyMind matches clients with the best therapist, who will adapt the course of treatment based on the client’s needs using a “clinical formulation.”
