iGaming AFRIKA Partners with African iGaming Alliance for Africa Safer Gambling Week Webinar
iGaming AFRIKA has partnered with the African iGaming Alliance (AiA) as part of Africa Safer Gambling Week to host a live webinar on the growth of illegal and unlicensed gambling and its impact on player protection across the continent.
Taking place on Friday, 11 September 2026, the session, titled “The Hidden Cost of Illegal Gambling: What Does the Black Market Mean for Player Protection?” will examine the size and impact of Africa’s illegal gambling market, the risks players face when using unlicensed platforms, and what can be done to encourage more players to choose regulated operators. The discussion will also explore the role of regulators, operators and other stakeholders in tackling the black market and making regulated markets safer and more attractive to players.
Africa Safer Gambling Week, running from 7–11 September 2026, brings together regulators, industry stakeholders and responsible gambling organisations across the continent under the #PlaySafeAfrica campaign, with a shared focus on safer gambling, stronger player protection and greater public awareness.
