betPawa Strengthens Responsible Gaming Commitment with Pan-African Training Across 15 Markets Ahead of New Football Season

betPawa has successfully concluded its annual Responsible Gaming training programme for customer support teams across all 15 African markets, reinforcing the company’s commitment to ensuring customers can enjoy betting in a safe, informed and responsible environment.
Delivered over a four-week period and completed ahead of the start of the new Premier League season, the initiative brought together more than 500 customer support professionals, with training facilitated by 11 clinical psychology and counselling organisations across the continent. The programme was designed to strengthen frontline teams’ ability to identify signs of gambling-related harm, engage customers with empathy, and provide appropriate support and referrals where needed.
As customer support teams are often the first point of contact for players experiencing difficulties, the training equips employees with the practical knowledge and confidence to respond appropriately while promoting healthier gambling behaviours.
The initiative forms part of betPawa’s broader Responsible Gaming strategy, which is built on three pillars: Prevent, Educate and Protect. Through this approach, the company continues to invest in customer protection by combining technology, staff capability, education and access to professional support services.
Commenting on the completion of the programme, Olabimpe Akingba, Head of Responsible Gaming at betPawa, said: “Responsible Gaming is not just about the tools we provide to customers; it is equally about ensuring our people have the knowledge, confidence and empathy to support those who may be at risk of gambling-related harm.
Completing this training across all 15 of our African markets before the start of one of the busiest sporting seasons reflects our proactive approach to player protection. By investing in our frontline teams and working closely with qualified clinical psychologists and counselling partners, we are strengthening our ability to provide meaningful support whenever our customers need it.”

The annual training forms part of betPawa’s ongoing investment in responsible gaming across Africa. In addition to employee training, the company continues to enhance customer protection through responsible gaming tools, awareness initiatives, self-exclusion programmes, and partnerships with accredited counselling organisations that provide professional support to customers requiring assistance.
